Ear Piercing & Lobe Repair

Torn Earlobe RepairEar piercing holes “stretch” and become elongated from wearing heavy earrings, from rubbing against a telephone, from trauma, etc and it may then make it difficult to wear small earrings. Occasionally an elongated hole will “tear through” and the lobe will split. Repair of the earlobe is an office procedure, performed under local anesthesia. Sutures (stitches) are necessary, and the earlobe can be re-pierced one month after this surgery. Extra time is needed for an earlobe repair.
