Dermasweep (Microdermabrasion with Infusions)
Dermasweep equipment and supplies

What is a Dermasweep treatment?
Dermasweep Pigment before and after The Dermasweep machine combines the benefits of a chemical peel and microdermabrasion into one treatment and is crystal free. This machine treats a variety of skin problems ranging from active acne, comedones (blackheads), oily skin, acne scars; and with different chemical infusions, sun damaged skin, uneven skin tones, fine lines, and dry skin. It also provides overall skin rejuvenation since treatment stimulates collagen formation beneath the skin. Dermasweep is safe for all skin colors, is used on men and women, and can be performed on the face and/or body, since it is customizable for individual conditions and skin types. Dermasweep can be used without any chemical infusions to treat pregnant patients.

How will Dr. Davis customize my Dermasweep treatment?
Unlike regular microdermabrasion, Dermasweep simultaneously abrades the skin with brushes and applies a continuous flow of various serums, tailored to your specific needs. There are four serums that can be infused, vitamin C to brighten your complexion, salicylic acid to treat acne, hyaluronic acid to add moisture and a hyperpigmentation serum to lighten dark spots. Generally, Dr. Davis uses 2 different serums during your session, depending on the problem(s) she is treating. Dr. Davis will discuss your protocol with you before she performs your procedure. All serums are oil free, so acne will not be worsened. Along with varying the infusion serums, brushes that vary from mild to very abrasive are chosen for your particular needs. Lastly, Dr. Davis will adjust the strength of suction to treat your specific condition(s). By customizing the infusion serums, varying the degree of abrasion, and adjusting the strength of the suction, Dermasweep gives you phenomenal results!

Dermasweep before and afterWill there be any downtime after my Dermasweep treatment with Dr. Davis?
Generally, there is no down time with this procedure. However, since the Dermasweep is customized for your situation and can be abrasive (such as when treating acne scars, stubborn brown spots, or deep wrinkling), you may experience some bruising. The stronger your Dermasweep is, the longer your downtime will be. We give you sun block to apply immediately post procedure, and most people can return to work immediately after treatment. Makeup can be applied 1 hour after the treatment.

Is there any special care that needs to be taken after a Dermasweep treatment with Dr. Davis?
You must not use any retinoid, acne, or anti-aging products for 2 to 5 days after the procedure. You should also avoid any products containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, or any other acids, since they can be irritating at this time. For the same reason, no abrasive or exfoliating scrubs should be used. We recommend not waxing hair in the treated area for the same amount of time. You should be applying SPF 30+ daily after the procedure, especially if you have a history of a pigmentation problem.

How many Dermasweep treatments does Dr. Davis recommend?
For best results, we suggest 6 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart, so that we can escalate the strength of the treatment (by using a stronger brush and/or suction strength). You might need maintenance treatments about 2 to 3 times a year after that, such as before special occasions. Please let us know that you are coming in for Dermasweep, so we can reserve the machine for you and avoid excessive wait time.
